A convection agitated dryer is a highly efficient drying system specifically developed for drying sewage sludge and unseparated liquid digestate. The MultiMax operates in biomass management. Technical and biotechnological processes convert biomass into industrially usable energy sources and raw materials.
Sewage Sludge Drying:
Precise Drying for Demanding Materials
The drying process combines heat transfer by convection with mechanical agitation by the agitator to achieve a uniform, rapid, and controlled drying result. This technology prevents clumping or the dreaded sticky phase, ensures a large evaporation surface, and enables energy-efficient processing even with difficult materials.

Customized Container Solutions
Our specially designed containers with 100mm sound and thermal insulation ensure optimal conditions. Inside, they are completely lined with stainless steel, including all components in contact with the material.
Climate-Neutral Drying
Integrated heat pumps use CO2 as a refrigerant, generating 3.5 – 4 kW of heat from 1 kW of electricity and heating the required water to 90°C. This enables environmentally friendly drying with green electricity.
Advantages at a glance

No Sticky Phase, Optimal Drying:
Unlike conventional methods, our agitated dryers prevent the dreaded sticky phase, where sewage sludge hardens like concrete. A dry “bed” creates ideal conditions.

Maximum Efficiency through Large Surface Area:
Our agitators ensure an extended drying surface, leading to remarkably high efficiency. With supply air at 85°C and exhaust air at 30°C, we achieve optimal drying results.

Airtight Exhaust Air Filtration:
Our filter containers are completely lined with stainless steel and hermetically sealed to effectively filter the exhaust air with a saturation between 98% and 100% relative humidity.

Innovative Dust Cleaning:
Our patent-pending Jet Pulsee compressed air filter cleaning process ensures reliable cleaning, even with wet dust.

Quality through Strong Partnership
The agitated dryers are manufactured by Gausling Engineering in close cooperation with ProTesCa, a specialist in environmental technology. This partnership stands for the highest quality, mature technology, and durable solutions in sewage sludge and digestate drying.
