Heat Recovery for Dryers

Recirculation Mode with TARGETED ZONE HEATING®
The TARGETED ZONE HEATING® (TZH®) system enables individual temperature control in each drying zone. This allows airflows to be precisely directed and energy losses to be avoided. Different energy sources such as gas burners or heat exchangers can be flexibly integrated. Recirculation and supply air systems ensure optimal saturation and uniform drying.

Heat Recovery with Cross-Flow Heat Exchanger
In this variant, the exhaust air is guided through an air-to-air heat exchanger. The fresh air is preheated without mixing the supply and exhaust air. Result: up to 20% energy savings, depending on outside temperature and operating conditions. Also ideal as a retrofit solution for existing systems.

Heat Recovery with Run-Around Coil System
Here, two heat exchangers, water pipes, and a pump are used. The exhaust air heats water, which in turn heats the fresh air for the drying process. With this system, up to 35% energy savings are possible – especially suitable for systems with high energy demands.

Combined Systems
The combination of a run-around coil system and a cross-flow heat exchanger achieves maximum efficiency: up to 50% energy savings. Perfect for customers who want to permanently reduce their operating costs and simultaneously minimize their CO₂ footprint.
Heat Pumps
Climate-Neutral Energy for Your Drying System
Efficiency:
From 1 kW of electricity, the heat pump generates up to 4 kW of heat.
Flexibility:
Usable for water temperatures up to 90 °C – ideal for various drying applications.
Sustainability:
Perfectly combinable with photovoltaic or wind energy systems.
This significantly reduces your operating costs and future-proofs your production.

Biomass Boilers
Self-Sufficient Energy Supply with Renewable Resources
Wood chips and other biomass are ideal energy sources for heating drying systems. In our modern biomass boilers, this resource is efficiently utilized to generate hot water or steam.
-
Independence from fossil fuels
-
Multiple uses: Energy can be used not only for the dryer but also for other processes or buildings.
-
Power generation option: Electricity is additionally produced through the integration of a steam turbine.
The result: maximum supply security with simultaneously low and stable energy costs.
Hot Air Generators
Clean Hot Air for Every Drying Process
Our hot air generators provide quickly available hot air for the drying process – reliable, efficient, and available in various performance classes. Thanks to indirect air heating, the air remains free of pollutants, making it suitable even for sensitive products.
- Quick commissioning due to compact design
- Flexibly applicable for various industries and products
- High temperatures up to 150 °C
Thus, hot air generators are a cost-effective addition or alternative to other energy sources.

Frequently asked questions about the modular belt dryer
A container belt dryer is a fully functional belt dryer in which the shipping container itself serves as the structural frame and housing. It is modular, weatherproof, and mobile – ideal for changing locations and flexible production requirements.
It does not require a separate building, is more cost-effective to purchase, and can be quickly relocated or expanded thanks to its design.
It can be used for biomass, wood, recyclable materials, sewage sludge, animal feed, agricultural products, and many other materials.
Since the dryer is delivered prefabricated and tested, it is usually ready for operation within a few days.
Yes, it can utilize waste heat from biogas plants, CHP units, or industrial processes. Alternatively, direct or indirect heating systems can also be integrated.
The dryer is fully weather-resistant and can be operated outdoors without the need for an additional protective building.
